About Us

The mission of Let's Turn It Around (LTIA) is to promote peace and love among all members of the human race.

By fostering genuine connections and understanding across all divides, we're building a world where love perseveres.

Personal Transformation

Change begins within. We support each person's journey to recognize their own biases, heal from past hurts, and develop the tools to love more fully. Through self-reflection and growth, we become better equipped to turn around our communities.

Bridge Building

Real change happens when we connect across divides. We create safe spaces for honest conversations, genuine understanding, and relationship building between people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences.

Love shows up in practical ways. We encourage and support tangible acts of care that strengthen our communities and demonstrate love in action. When we serve others, we help turn around lives one act of kindness at a time.

Systemic Change

Lasting transformation requires addressing root causes. We work to identify and transform the systems, policies, and practices that perpetuate division and inequality in our communities, fostering equity and lasting change.

Our Pillars of Change

Our Story

At the heart of LTIA are Lynn & Myrtie Coleman, a couple whose love embodies the very values they champion. As servant leaders in South Bend, Indiana, they saw a need for change and took action. In 1994, they launched what began as a local initiative—and it has since grown into a movement that's touching lives across communities.

Lynn and Myrtie intentionally designed the LTIA logo so that the backward heart represents the brokenness in the world, but when turned around, it becomes whole again. This simple act of turning symbolizes LTIA's core belief: that with intention and action, together we can transform division into unity, hatred into love, and despair into hope.

Our Community

LTIA isn't just an organization – it's a growing family of change-makers. We show up in our communities, build bridges between people, and create spaces where meaningful relationships can flourish. Every day, we prove that when people come together with love, transformation and peace can follow.

Voices from Our Community

It's going to take each and every one of us. The city, community members, faith leaders to really accomplish what we want to. And that's to bring violence down and have peace and justice in our community.

James Mueller, Mayor of South Bend, IN

I don't want any more young boys going to prison like I did for 30 years. You have to be willing to have a voice. We have to change for the kids. We have to lead by example.

Ira White, Former Perpetrator of Gun Violence

It starts with us. The youth, the parents, how our parents show us, how we are in front of people, how we treat teachers, and how we treat everybody.

Taylor Brown, Gun Violence Victim & Survivor

We can teach our young people to value one another. We can teach them that they mean something to everybody and that their lives more than matter.

Canneth Lee, South Bend 1st District Councilman

We must work together to establish justice, to do what is right to ensure that every person, particularly our black sisters and brothers, are respected by the police force and every one of us.

Reverend John I. Jenkins,

Former University of Notre Dame President

When there has been heartache or trauma within our community, I have seen the essence of LTIA work through mentors, teachers, loving community members and youth by bringing everyone together. We collectively agree on a message that we can heal our broken hearts and turn it around through simply, yet intentionally, loving one another. People demonstrate this commitment by gathering, holding hands, sharing concern, ideas and solutions. IT IS BEAUTIFUL TO WITNESS!

Maggie Gibney, MSW & Mom

God in Heaven, we ask that you send healing to our land, so that we, of all races, can understand and work with each other.

Bishop Donald Alford,

Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ

We all need to step up so none of us have to kneel down again tomorrow.

Scott Ruszkowski, South Bend, IN Police Chief

When we begin to live and promote peace and love among all members of the human race, we will fix many issues, including gun violence. We must all work together. Let's turn it around!

Lynn Coleman, LTIA founder

LTIA is more than a message.
It's a movement. A movement to leave positive imprints on the hearts of mankind. It is a call to shift perspective and take action when things aren't working. It's about using our strengths to create positive change—for ourselves and our world.

Wanda Dudley, Producer at WSBT

Love conquers all, and when we begin to love one another, I believe we begin to fix a lot of issues.

Lynn Coleman, Founder of Let's Turn It Around

Let's Turn It Around is by far one of the most profound initiatives I've seen and been impacted by in a very long time.
